Dr. Glass is a passionate orthodontist who strives to improve the self-confidence of his patients. If you were to ask him what he loves most about being an orthodontist, the answer might surprise you:

“I am also passionate about the airway – orthodontics has allowed me to improve my patients nasal breathing which in turn has a huge impact on their overall health. For me there is nothing better than hearing from a parent that their child no longer snores or has been doing better in school or sports because they have improved breathing after our treatment.”

Where did you grow up?

I was born and raised in the southeast part of Virginia Beach. I attended Kellam High School.

Tell us about your family!

I have two children, Andrew,12 years old, and Taylor, 9 years old. We have a mini bernedoodle named Carly. Andrew enjoys playing the drums, lacrosse, basketball and golf. Taylor enjoys playing the piano, soccer and is very artistic. She is always creating new slime combos and loves when we are students in her classroom. My wife, Lindsay, and I are really enjoying our kids’ ages and are having lots of fun watching them play sports and taking trips to see new places.

Favorite way to spend a weekend?

My ideal weekend is spending the morning at the gym then hanging with the family. Playing 9 holes of golf with my son, Andrew. I really enjoy cooking, so I usually try to make one or two meals at home and then we enjoy going out to eat. Esoteric is one of our favorite restaurants in Virginia Beach. I enjoy playing the guitar or playing the drums with the kids.

What kind of music do you like?

I like almost every style of music from country, rock, rap and so on. Lindsay and I attend 4-5 concerts a year because we love live music so much. We saw Bruno Mars in Florida last year and it was an incredible show.

What’s your favorite movie?

My favorite movie is The Count of MonteCristo.

What’s your most-used productivity hack?

My most used productivity hack is sticky notes. I would not be able to keep my mind organized without them.

What do you love most about Chesapeake/Elizabeth City?

What I love most about Chesapeake and EC are the families I have gotten to know. I started my practice from zero with my office manager, Gail, alongside me with the goal to provide the highest level of care to my patients. It has been very rewarding to see my practice grow and the families in these communities embrace the practice. I have the best staff anyone could ever dream of, and I am so thankful.

Favorite restaurant in Chesapeake/Elizabeth City?

My favorite restaurant in Chesapeake is Hanaki Sushi.

3 random things someone may not know about you?

  1. I was a general dentist for 4 years before becoming an Orthodontist.
  2. I started out going to community college. It saved me a ton of money and allowed me to get out of undergrad debt free because I was able to work and go to school.
  3. My dad was a professional Elvis impersonator, he did many concerts and shows all over. I was able to meet some really cool celebrities and grow an appreciation for many styles of music.
