Invisalign aligners provide an invisible braces option for patients who prefer a subtler treatment type. Unlike traditional metal braces made with brackets and wires, Invisalign uses multiple sets of clear aligners for the upper and lower teeth. These clear aligners gently move teeth into position little by little each week.

How Does It Work?

At the beginning of your treatment, we will take impressions of your teeth before sending them to a lab. The lab will create a fully customized set of aligners that will fit precisely over your teeth, with slight adjustments made each week. You will change out your aligners week by week, slowly guiding teeth where they need to be. Typically, patients can finish treatment in about a year. However, your exact treatment length varies depending on your unique orthodontic needs.

Why Invisible Braces?

Invisalign provides patients with more convenience than typical orthodontic treatment. Take a look at the following benefits of Invisalign.

Easy Cleaning

Without brackets and wires, you can brush and floss your teeth as you normally would. No need for additional superflossers to reach in and around your orthodontic equipment. To keep teeth clean throughout treatment, we recommend bringing a travel toothbrush and toothpaste with you on the go so you can brush after meals when you’re away from home.

Fewer Appointments

Since we can provide multiple sets of aligners to you at one time, you won’t have to make multiple adjustment appointments like typical braces. When it’s time to change your aligners, simply open the next pack and move your current set into the spare retainer case. We will schedule you for quick checkups roughly every ten weeks to give you your next set of aligners and see how your treatment is progressing.

More Meal Options

Because you must remove your aligners to eat, you don’t have to stray too far from your typical diet. However, you may still feel some discomfort for a few days after putting on new aligners. If that’s the case, we recommend sticking to softer foods until your teeth and gums feel better. If you’re feeling comfortable, though, you can eat whatever you like!

Convenient for Extracurricular Activities

For those who are active in sports or play an instrument, Invisalign won’t get in the way. Simply take out your aligners if you feel uncomfortable while playing an instrument. During sports, be sure to wear a mouthguard to protect your teeth.
